With the onset of winter.. SAFE replaces dozens of dilapidated tents for displaced people in partnership with UNDP

As the harsh winter approached, the association, in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), implemented an emergency project to replace dilapidated tents in Al-Jazeera Camp in the Mawasi area of ​​Khan Younis. The project aimed to replace 33 tents that had become completely unusable after being damaged by the elements during more than two years of continuous conflict. With the prolonged displacement and the lack of alternatives, the tents of the displaced people had become severely worn out, unable to protect them from rainwater or the strong winds that batter the coastal region. This initiative came to the aid of families who found themselves without proper shelter to protect their children from the winter cold. The most affected families, whose tents had become mere tattered fabric offering no protection from the heat or the cold, were selected for the project. The initiative was carried out in full coordination with the government operations room to ensure the prioritization of the work on the ground and the delivery of the new tents to the displaced people in Al-Jazeera Camp who needed them most. These efforts aim to reduce the worsening human suffering resulting from the severe shortage of shelter materials and the prevention of aid from entering, which has forced thousands of families to remain in dilapidated tents for the past period.
