SAFE Gaza

The Gaza Society for Sustainable Agriculture and Friendly Environment (SAFE), with the generous support of the Good Planet International (GPI), implemented a critical humanitarian initiative to distribute hot meals to displaced families in Gaza City. The effort is part of a multi-sectoral emergency response and relief program aimed at supporting the most vulnerable populations amid a rapidly deteriorating humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.

Urgent Response to Rising Hunger and Food Insecurity

The initiative targeted displaced families living in one of the central Gaza displacement camps, providing freshly prepared hot meals in response to the sharp rise in food insecurity and the growing signs of famine, driven by the prolonged closure of border crossings and restrictions on humanitarian aid entry.

Unprecedented Living Conditions and Soaring Food Prices

This emergency intervention comes at a time when families in Gaza face unprecedented economic hardship. The collapse of purchasing power and record-high food prices have made it nearly impossible for most households to secure their daily food needs.

The situation is further aggravated by widespread malnutrition, especially among children and the elderly, who are increasingly vulnerable to health complications due to poor access to nutritious food. This has heightened the urgent need for life-saving food assistance.

A Shared Commitment to Humanitarian Action

This initiative reflects the continued commitment of SAFE and its international partners, including GPI, to provide essential emergency support to Gaza’s most affected populations. By delivering hot meals and basic food relief, the initiative helps to combat hunger and support survival during one of the world’s most severe humanitarian emergencies.
